The SBDC Business Accelerators have a full range of resources at their disposal. Since the Business Accelerators are connected to the SBDC, they are able to utilize and leverage professional business consultants, a powerful local network, and ongoing professional development to deliver high quality programs for entrepreneurs. Clients can engage through one-on-one consulting, structured programs and skill building workshops, and social events. To learn more about these services click on the menu link.
1:1 Consulting
Each of our Accelerators offer one-on-one consulting with a designated lead consultant. Our lead consultants have years of experience leading successful companies and frequently pass on those learnings to help guide the emerging companies in our Accelerators. We require our resident clients to meet with their lead consultant at least once per quarter, but expect they will meet much more frequently. The lead consultants at our accelerators offer confidential in-depth, long-term coaching. This includes help with everything from modeling your business, to operational and strategic planning, to capital formation.
Trainings
Our Accelerators offer two types of trainings to our resident clients:
- Sprint Programming: Sprints are intensive, longer-term programs comprised of a cohort of entrepreneurs. These programs help drive action with emerging companies while offering a small group setting where entrepreneurs can learn from each other. A typical sprint lasts anywhere from 4 to 10 weeks and requires a high level of commitment from the entrepreneur and their team. The cost for attending Sprint Programming is included in the monthly rent for our Accelerator resident clients.
- Skill-Based Trainings: Our accelerators offer trainings to help entrepreneurs develop the skill set needed to launch and grow their company. These skill-based trainings include everything from Quickbooks to website creation and email marketing. Most trainings are free or reduced in price for Accelerator resident clients.
Events
Each Accelerator is more than just a building with resources, they are places of community and shared experiences. The SBDC fosters this sense of community by providing opportunities for resident clients to come together. These events range from potlucks, to door decorating competitions, to demo days. Launching a business can be an isolating experience, and we want to give our resident clients the ability to be successful in business as well as experience a community outside the four walls of an office.
